Argentina successfully defeated its opponent France in the penalty shootouts by a 4-2 score
The Argentinian team kept up an amazing pace from the beginning of the match and had 55% possession throughout the game. Lionel Messi scored the first goal that secured an early lead for Argentina in the 23rd minute. The second goal was then scored by Angel Di Maria against France in the 36th minute. Despite Argentina’s two early goals, France was able to catch up as their forward kylian Mbappe scored two goals, achieving by that a draw that resulted in a need for extra time and then shoot-outs.
Despite the player’s tiredness, Argentina kept their demeanour, as they were determined to take home the world cup.
Their victorious win came after scoring four consecutive goals in the shootouts. The first was scored by Messi, followed by Dybala, then Paredes, and then finally Montiel scored and secured the World Cup.
