A remarkable playing strategy enabled The Moroccan national team to win their final qualification match against Canada with elegance and style.
The first winning goal was scored in the fourth minute by the team’s midfielder Hakim Ziyaech who passed a clear unstoppable ball into Canada’s gaping net to make it 1-0, making by that Morocco the leader of the game. The forward Yusse En-Nesyri then scored the second and final winning goal in the 23rd minute when he ran onto a long ball from Achraf Hakimi and beat Borjan at the near post.
The intense game was full of fouls, sweat, intensity, and goals. Despite Canada’s single goal -that was scored by Morocco’s defender Nafyef aguerd against his own team by mistake- and their continuous efforts, the win was not meant for them, as Morocco’s defenses and strategies made it impossible for Canada to overtake them.
Morocco today reached Round 16, topping Group F standing with a total of 7 points.
